It's almost showtime! Lots of important information is below for our Year-End shows and can also be found here on our web site:
Here is a quick video to assist you with lots of performance information:
COSTUME WEEK: May 10-14, 2021 IN-STUDIO
This year we are holding dress rehearsals in-studio during your class time during the week of May 10-14, 2021. Wear your costume to your class. If you have multiple classes in one day, you may use the bathroom to change costumes/tights as needed. We understand that most of you are coming from school to the studio, but if you can do your hair and makeup as you would for the show day, that would be wonderful!
HAIR FOR DRESS REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE:
Males: All hair for males should be cleanly styled out of the face and secure.
Females: All classes EXCEPT Ballet and Acrobatic Arts: All hair for females should be in a slicked high ponytail (no part or "wispies.") Use a ponytail holder that matches your haircolor. Reminder to use TWO ponytail holders at once to hold the hair more securely. Here is a quick tutorial on how to to a high slicked pontyail. For shorter or textured hair, please watch the BALLET video below, but don't finish with the hair in a bun, finish with a ponytail.
Females: All Ballet Classes should have a slicked high, classical ballet bun. No "wispies." Here is a short tutorial video showing long hair, shorter hair, and textured hair.
Females: Acrobatic Arts and Acrodance. Due to headstands, tumbling, and more-hair must be in a slicked low ponytail. No "wispies" or parts. Follow all directions for the following video, except put the pontyail LOW at the nape of the neck (not high, like in the video).
COSTUMES FOR DRESS REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE:
Wear your costume to the studio for Costume Week with tennis shoes (please don't wear your dance shoes outside of the studio, it can damage them). If you'd like, wear a light bathrobe over your costume to keep it clean and protected. If your costume(s) have not come in yet, don't worry, wear class attire. Do the same on Performance Day, as there is not a large backstage area to change in. If you have more than one costume, bring them to the performance in a garment bag and you can change there.
TIGHTS and SHOES FOR DRESS REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCE: Reminder not to wear dance shoes outside of the studio, it can damage them. You may bring your shoes in a small bag and change your shoes.
We can't wait to see you in your costumes very soon!
