The Young Children's Program at CPA provides all students ages 18 months-7 years old with a proven 40-year curriculum to explore the world of performing arts. The imaginative powers which are fostered in each class enhance the development of the imagination and welcomes creativity in a positive learning environment. Listening and concentration skills are also fostered in a joyful way. Self-esteem and social skills will grow as the students continue on their exciting journey of performing arts with other classmates. These classes prepare all students to move up to our Student Division. *Non--performance based class. **Class will perform two pieces in show (one costume).
Tiny Dancer and Me
Your toddler is becoming more vertical and will enjoy this action-packed class where they will play, explore, and learn with their caretaker and a caring and energetic instructor. Classes are filled with music, laughter, and fun and are intentionally designed for early childhood development. They are run in six-week sessions and curriculum changes after each session, so that you can continue or begin at any point.
Fairytale Ballet is offered for young dancers ages 3.0- 4.0. Young boys and girls will explore the fascinating world of ballet and music in each 45-minute class. Classes are filled with rich opportunities which develop motor control skills, balance, strength, flexibility, and body awareness. Our students will be introduced to beginning classical ballet movements and port de bras, stage direction, patterns of movement, and rhythm skills.
Broadway Babies is a fun and stimulating environment which introduces our young boys and girls to the techniques of musical theatre and classical ballet. This is a 45 minute class for students ages 4.0-5.0. Students will utilize flexibility and build strengthening skills through stretching. Fun song lyrics will be taught from age-appropriate Broadway musicals for children. Rhythm skills and timing will be introduced and utilized. Our students will be introduced to beginning classical ballet movements and port de bras, stage direction, patterns of movement, rhythm skills and song and dance. Our program also emphasizes motor skills such as hopping, skipping and jumping.
Combination Classes foster a passion for technique in a fun and positive environment. Our aim is to build your student’s interest by offering an introduction to a specific form of dance, by focusing thirty minutes on each form of dance in a one hour class.
Ballet/Tap Combo is an exciting class which introduces our young boys and girls to the techniques of classical ballet and tap. Introductory ankle and foot control will be a focus as students have fun with rhythms and syncopation in tap. Steps such as stomps, stamps, step heels, and shuffles will be learned utilizing stimulating music and rhythms. In ballet, students will be introduced to the fluid and graceful port de bras and body positions which will provide a foundation for all forms of dance. We also emphasize petite and grand allegro jumps in the centre and traveling across the floor. Many of our young students in Combination Classes progress into separate classes as they mature in age and technique, and this solid foundation is pursued throughout the season to achieve these goals.
Combination Musical Theatre/Tap
Do you have a future "Broadway Baby"? Then they will adore this fun one hour combination class that encompasses Musical Theatre and Tap or Guys & Dolls Broadway Combo. Child-appropriate musicals will be introduced, along with the songs, scenes, and choreography of the Broadway show. Introductory ankle and foot control will be a focus as students have fun with rhythms and syncopation in tap. Steps such as stomps, stamps, step heels, and shuffles will be learned utilizing stimulating music and rhythms. Many of our young students in Combination Classes progress into separate classes as they mature in age and technique, and this solid foundation is pursued throughout the season to achieve these goals.
Combination Tap/Hip Hop
Tap/Hip Hop is one of our most popular classes as our young boys and girls get to enjoy exploring introductory tap and hip hop techniques. Introductory ankle and foot control will be a focus as students have fun with rhythms and syncopation in tap. Steps such as stomps, stamps, step heels, and shuffles will be learned utilizing stimulating music and rhythms. In Hip Hop, students will learn basic isolations and hip hop technique in the centre floor and move across the floor during progressions. Students will utilize flexibility and build strengthening skills through stretching. Fun and age appropriate music will utilize your student’s imagination and build rhythmic skills. Many of our young students in Combination Classes progress into separate classes as they mature in age and technique, and this solid foundation is pursued throughout the season to achieve these goals.
AcroDance PreSchool is a progressional system created by industry leader Acrobatic Arts. It follows the philosophy of safe and effective progressions by level in dance and acrobatics. Mats will be used for each class as each age level works on appropriate skills in balance, flexibility, strength, limbering, and the foundation for tumbling. Students who complete our AcroDance PreSchool classes have a goal of moving into the Acrobatic Arts classes as they grow and progress.

Student Division Program: Level I-II, II
The Student Division Program at CPA meets all students (ages 7 and up) where they are in their performing arts journey. A student may be attending a class for the first time or for the hundredth-time, for fun and fitness, or with goals of becoming a professional in the world of performing arts. Maybe they would like to build confidence when speaking in front of others, or have a goal of being on pointe one day! No matter your goal, we are here to help you get there!
Student Division Program: Level II-III, III, and Teen/Adult
As students progress into our II-III and III levels, their focus and growth progress as well. Most all Level II-III and III classes have additional class requirements and are by instructor approval only. If you are new to CPA, we will provide an evaluation at no cost to you to help you find the right fit. Our Teen/Adult classes have no additional requirements, but do perform in our Spring Shows. Students at CPA in Level II-III take an average of 8 hours per week, Level III, an average of 10 hours per week.
At Chambers Performing Arts, our Teen and Adult Division is a place for new and returning students. We have students in this division from ages 13-70+. Whether you are returning to class or are brand new to performing arts, are picking up a new hobby or want to get a great workout, we are sure to find the perfect class for you!
Teen/Adult Ballet with Mr. John
Explore the world of classical ballet from the barre to center floor and across the floor. Whether you are looking for a fun class filled with plies and allegro, or looking for a great workout-this class is for you! This class has dancers of all ages and levels, from those who are returning to ballet, to many who are brand-new! Mr. John plays fantastic ballet music (that you will be sure to sing along to!) and gives every dancer personalized attention and inspiration! You are sure to gain a love for ballet after Mr. John's classes!
Teen/Adult Hip Hop
Who doesn't want to sweat, burn calories, get a great workout, learn incredible hip hop combos and more with Ms. Naomi's Teen/Adult Hip Hop Class! You'll learn the latest moves-and some classics, too- with music to match! She has appeared in videos and on tour with some of the top artists in the world. After a warm-up, you'll travel across the floor learning progressions, and then will move to center floor for a heart-racing combination! You will love this class and will keep coming back for more! Ms. Naomi is inspiring to every student, and will push you to reach your best!
High School Musical Theatre
Mrs. Paige, CPA Alumni, Director, a Broadway veteran and former Radio City Rockette (NYC), has been hired by the best Tony Award winning directors and choreographers of this century. She will bring everything she learned "in the room where it happens" to you, to help you meet your goals. Maybe you are auditioning for your high school shows or community theatre, or want to have fun, or maybe you have Broadway dreams? Everyone is welcome in this class that focuses on dance, acting, and vocal techniques of American traditional and contemporary musical theatre.
CPA is the first Acrobatic Arts certified studio in Johns Creek or Alpharetta of this world-renowned curriculum. What is the difference in Acrobatic Arts and gymnastics? Check out our Acrobatic Arts Program page here. A weekly ballet class is required to take Acrobatic Arts, and the Teen/Adult Ballet class above would be a perfect fit! Come and feel the freedom of spending 50% of our class upside down, where over time you can progress to walk-overs, back handsprings, aerials and more. Annual Exams are required in AA to progress to the next level, which typically happen once per year (Approximate Fees $125 per exam). Currently, exams are being offered virtually and your instructor will prepare you and give you more details as you progress. This class is also a performance class.

She tapped in some of the biggest shows on Broadway including The Producers (the most Tony awards in history), Crazy For You (Tony-winning Best Musical), 42nd Street (Tony-winning musical) and as a Radio City Rockette at Radio City Music Hall. Everyone is welcome in this class that focuses on tap and tap history of American traditional and contemporary musical theatre.
Vocal Ensemble I
Mr. Rick bounds with expertise, from coaching young performers on the National Tour of Les Miserables, to his extensive opera and musical theatre performing credits, to running one of the top musical theatre, theatre, and voice programs in the country. He is a Professor of Musical Theatre at Brenau University and the Director of Musical Theatre with the Gainesville Theatre Alliance (GTA). He is a professional crossover artist in opera and musical theatre with 30 years of directing, music directing, and voice training experience in musical theatre, opera, art song, jazz, rock, and country. He considers passing on artistic knowledge a daily privilege. He will take you to new heights whether you are a new or seasoned singer.
Dialects, Shakespeare, On-Camera and More II-III
The above themes won't be covered in one class, but will be split up into 6-week sessions and will be taught by Guest Artists who are industry pros. Some of our courses will be delivered virtually and others will be in-studio. During each 6-week session, you will deep-dive into each theme, gaining a better understanding and execution of each.
Progressing Ballet Technique
CPA is the first Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) certified studio in Johns Creek or Alpharetta of this world-renowned curriculum. What is the difference in PBT and ballet? Check out our Progressing Ballet Technique Program. Professional dancers all over the world make PBT a priority in their training regimen. A weekly ballet class is required to take PBT, and the Teen/Adult Ballet class above would be a perfect fit! This is a strengthening program done with a Swiss Ball, Fusion Ball, yoga mat, thera bands, and more to protect the body and prepare it for any form of dance that is needed. You will feel the results immediately, and with time will build a strong foundation so that you can dance for years to come.
Our Pre-Professional Division is one of the most rigorous in the country because of the breadth and depth of our training, but it will allow you to go work professionally on Broadway, as a Radio City Rockette, with the top dance companies, or glean scholarships to the top colleges and universities in dance and musical theatre and beyond.
Performers in this division are fully committed to performing arts at CPA and can envision their long term goals. They train with the best in the industry at CPA and with CPA Guest Artists.

The Acting Program at Chambers Performing Arts gives beginners, intermediate, and more advanced acting students the opportunity to grow and explore, while setting a strong foundation, rooted in technique. Our acting classes are Meisner-based and for the best delivery, are focused on 6-Week Sessions to deep-dive into specific genres. Acting classes boost self-awareness and an understanding of empathy and the world around you. Our CPA Alumni have appeared on Broadway, in regional theatre, on television, and beyond.

CPA is proud to be the first PBT certified and licensed studio in Johns Creek/Alpharetta. Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best. One of the important elements used in the PBT method is muscle memory which helps to improve students' understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment. Each exercise in the PBT program has been developed with care and guidance by Marie Walton-Mahon along with a team of physiotherapists.

All are open to any student at CPA.
